Job Seekers Allowance and Covid19 the need for UBI

The impact of covid19 has resulted in many having to claim Job Seekers allowance after loosing there job to covid19 for many that allowance is now ending after 6 months. The need for a Universal Basic Income has never been greater and is a fix needed to prevent millions falling into poverty through #covid19 economic impact

Like many my wife lost her job over the last year when the firm she worked for 15 years for went bust and closed with all staff loosing their jobs.

The redundancy process was less than straight forward having to claim via the government redundancy service getting about half what she had expected to receive  then the tax man whipped a chunk.

Now her #JSA is ending and the Job Center basically said sort yourself out bye....

We are not in a bad position thankfully but many others will be in the same position with the impact of #Covid19 and #JSA about to run out after 6 months.

To have some jobs worth say that's us out go on website see if you can get anything bye... Is just not good enough.

We need #covid19 extensions to the JSA period or the government needs to introduce a #UniversalBasicIncome to ensure inequality due to covid19 does not push people into poverty across the UK

The Economic impact of covid19 needs radical responce and #UBI would help bridge the issues.

At the very least we need a covid extension to the JSA 6 month claim period or face millions of people falling into financial poverty through no fault of their own.
