The Wolf in Woolly Rainbow sheep’s clothing

When the wolf circles hidden under the Woolly rainbow sheep’s clothing to claw away from the community it’s time to stand up and send the wolf a clear message.

Back in 2017 Eden council put in place a policy to move forward devolution of assets to town and parish councils assets in the communities they serve.

Since May 2019 this has all but ground to a halt even when town and parish councils and the communities want to progress with devolution of assets the council is stonewalling this at every turn.

It now appears that under the guise of kindness and woolly gestures the leader and deputy leader are moving a motion on notice at the next full council meeting to totally stick the final spanner in the works to devolution before Local Government reorganisation happens.

This will risk the assets in our communities from ending up in the control of a bigger council and lost to community help assets that could be sold on for housing or disposed of to raise cash by a new council.

It's interesting that when Eden council is failing to maintain assets like playparks in our communities that they are now moving to stall devolving these to town and parish councils.

It appears the Leader and Deputy leader want to appear an asset right council as they head into the final chapter of Eden council maybe to use as leverage in negotiating their future roles.

This is the motion they have put forward as political loaded as it is in the period of purdah they push the woolly line of the saint doing good when in fact they are fresh from the devils inner circle acting in their own interests as ever.

Remember the line you dont vote against your own alliance came from the deputy leader recently!

To act in the best interests of the community would be to get on without delay and devolve assets to communities so they can repair the damage Eden council has done through in action since May 2019.

When we have playparks with no play they can not say they are actin gin the best interests of the community to stall the devolution process.

I urge everyone to email or call your Eden district councillors to vote against agenda Item 7 the emotion on notice at the full council meeting on the Thursday, 29th April, 2021 6.45 pm

As a motion that is political in nature and does not serve the interests of communities or the citizens of Eden and protect the assets of our communities and risks their loss to the area through the delay and inaction this motion will bring. despite the smoke and mirrors the wording gives.

The truth is its fudge and treacle acts by the Eden executive to hold onto our community assets for their own benefit.
