Failed State Britain

Fact or Fiction you decide… This article was intended as a fictional article about the UK as a failed state as a result of Brexit and the governments incompetence some point in the future. The results in reality echo current news posing the real question is the UK now a failed state?

At 4:39am on the 24th of June 2016 David Dimbleby on the BBC declared “We are out” with 52% of votes for Leave and 48% Remain.

the result brought celebration from those who had campaigned for Leave and Sadness and fear for those who had campaigned for Remain.

The PM David Cameron promptly announced to the nation his resignation.

In the years following the United Kingdom's decision to leave the European Union, the country has descended into a state of chaos and dysfunction. Once a proud nation with a rich history and thriving economy, the UK has become a failed state, a shadow of its former self.

The reasons for this decline are many, but at the heart of the matter is the government's incompetence in handling the Brexit process. Instead of pursuing a thoughtful and well-planned approach to leaving the EU, the government stumbled and bumbled its way through negotiations, making one mistake after another.

The result has been disastrous. The UK's economy has been hit hard, with businesses struggling to cope with the uncertainty surrounding Brexit. Investment has dried up, and many companies have relocated to other countries, taking their jobs and tax revenues with them. The pound has plummeted in value, leaving many Britons struggling to make ends meet.

But the economic woes are just the tip of the iceberg. The government's failure to plan for the post-Brexit world has left the UK in a precarious position. The country's borders are now more porous than ever, with illegal immigration and smuggling on the rise. The government has been unable to strike meaningful trade deals with other countries, leaving the UK isolated and vulnerable.

Meanwhile, social tensions have been simmering beneath the surface. The government's anti-immigrant rhetoric has stoked the fires of nationalism and xenophobia, leading to a rise in hate crimes and social unrest. The NHS has been stretched to breaking point, with many hospitals struggling to cope with the influx of patients and a lack of funding.

It is a grim picture, one that no Briton could have imagined just a few short years ago. The UK, once a beacon of democracy and stability, has become a laughing stock on the world stage. Its leaders have failed to plan for the future, leaving the country adrift in a sea of uncertainty.

In short, the UK is a failed state, a cautionary tale of what can happen when a government is unable or unwilling to plan for the future. Unless something changes soon, the country may be doomed to a long and painful decline.
