The Roman Empire and the District council

Empires eventually fall and just as when the Roman Empire fell Voreda will be part of the fall of the Eden Empire.

The Roman Empire long since fallen still today has many monuments to its existence and has left lasting change on the world we live in today but as an empire it is no more.

Back in 395 AD the Roman empire was facing its final days as the western parts of the Roman Empire started to fall away and the mighty empire that had panned at its peak some 5 million kilometres across most of what is now Europe and the British Isles.

On the norther fringes of the empire close to the frontier of the Roman empire with Scotland was a garrison with some 500 men based called Voreda.

Voreda is what eventual in post roman times became modern day Penrith located a few miles south of the original Voreda garrison that it evolved from.

However, located in the heart of Penrith is a building that like the mighty roman colosseum bears legacy to the roman empire.

The building is not or roman era by any means but bears the name as a legacy of the roman era Voreda House.

The building carries none of the architectural grandeur or merit of the Roman era buildings that stand as a monument to the roman empire.

Apart from the roman name the only other like with Voreda house is the widespread usage of concrete a material the romans were the first to use widespread as a building material as they expanded their empire and left buildings and monuments as a lasting monument to their empire.

One thing many roman emperors did was to leave a legacy in a self-vanity way for all to see.

Fast forward to 2021 and what has the roman empire and the vanity projects of emperors and leaders to do with Penrith and a dull old concrete building?

The answer is simple the dying days of the Eden council empire are upon us and the modern-day emperors are busy planning their own lasting vanity project to leave a lasting reminder of their existence on the area.

Voreda House is once again as Voreda of Roman times on the brink of the fall of a micro kingdom that will forever change the landscape we live in.

Just as when the Rome empire fell new empires will emerge to take their place but the leadership of Eden council appear hell bent on delivering a lasting monument as their legacy.

The empire of Eden as it faces it fall would do well for its leaders to take lessons from the final days of the Roman Empire and the downfall of the leaders of that era.

They may not face a revolt and deposed of like the Emperor Romulus Augustulus but the people will revolt at the ballot box against those who have acted like rulers of an empire over the people and acted to build vanity projects as a monument to themselves.
