Jonathan Davies for Penrith West

Candidate for Penrith West on Eden Council. No Hot Air and Spin, Jonathan Delivers positive results and actions.

Jonathan Davies – Local small business owner and Town Councillor for Penrith West.

I have served the community in a number of roles over the last decade as Chair of the North Cumbria Federation of small business, founder of Evolve Penrith, a town councillor as well as school governor, member of Calc executive, NALC national assembly member for Cumbria all as volunteer roles to support and help the community as a few examples.

My business is based in Penrith West and family have lived in Penrith West for generations.

I became fed up with the mess of politics and the lack of a local voice representing the area.

This prompted me to stand as a candidate in the 2017 General Election putting local issues and people first.

After the election in 2017 the conversation evolved leading to the launch of Putting Cumbria First as a local party for Cumbria committed to local first, grass roots representation, committed to putting people and place first.

I am standing to represent Penrith West on Eden council in this election because we need a voice to challenge and ensure Penrith is not left behind with the local government changes taking place.

I have challenged and held Eden council and the county on local issues from the millions wasted on Voreda House to actively campaigning and fighting to reopen the streets of Penrith last year when the county shut the roads down.

I don’t believe in just taking hot air and the brown stuff some do, I deliver actions and results.

While some candidates talk about wanting to deliver 20mph limits in areas. I deliver having put forward a motion passed by council to introduce a 20mph zone across Penrith. One limit no confusion to reduce speed and improve traffic flow around the town to help reduce the gridlock we all know too well.

While some candidates cause as stink over odour issues in Penrith. I am actively engaging with all involved to deliver positive actions and results to address odour issues from the multiple Penrith sites involved and the agencies who regulate them.

I believe in acting as a voice for the community by engage, listen and putting people and place first No Hot Air, No Spin, I deliver for Penrith.
