Never be a bystander that let’s evil rise in our nation.

The government had used populist nationalism to gain power, and now the country was suffering.

A fictional look at the dark future of a UK that walked the wrong dark path.

As the sun rose obscured in the dark cloudy skies over London, the city was eerily quiet.

No cars, no people.

It was as if the city was holding its breath. The reason for the silence was that the UK had fallen into a fascist state following Brexit.

The government had used populist nationalism to gain power, and now the country was suffering.

The streets were lined with propaganda posters, urging people to "support the nation" and "defend our borders". The government had put in place a strict immigration policy, and anyone who was not deemed "British enough" was forcibly deported.

The once diverse and multicultural society had been stripped of its vibrancy and was now a bleak, isolated state.

The media had become a tool of the government, with any dissenting voices silenced or arrested. There were rumors of concentration camps being built to house those who opposed the regime, and the police were given almost unlimited powers to "keep the peace".

The country was now in a state of perpetual fear, with anyone who looked "different" being eyed with suspicion. There were reports of vigilante groups patrolling the streets, attacking anyone who didn't conform to their narrow idea of what it meant to be British.

As the days turned into weeks, and the weeks turned into months, people began to realize that this was not what they had voted for. The government had used their fear and frustration to gain power, promising a better future, but instead delivering a nightmare.

Some began to organize and resist the regime, but it was dangerous. Many were arrested, and some were never seen again. The rest of the world watched in horror as the UK descended into fascism, wondering how it had all gone so wrong.

In the end, it was a small group of brave activists who managed to take back control and rid UK of the dark evil that had taken hold of the once proud champion of democracy that had driven the same dark evil from Europe that had taken hold in the 1930’s, but the damage had already been done.

The country had been scarred by the experience, and it would take decades to heal.

The lesson had been learned: nationalism and populism can be a dangerous combination, and it is up to each of us to stand up for what is right, even when it's difficult.

‘Never be a bystander’ that lets evil rise in our nation.
