The political attempt to silence those holding others to account

When a personal thought on Facebook about a county councillor is used to attempt to politicly silence others.

In the interests of openness and transparency.

In April I shared a newspaper article about a comment made by a Cumbria County Council member on my personal Facebook page. 

I shared my thought about the county councillor based on the article content.

A councillor who is on a council I am not a member of and spoke as any other resident of Cumbria can and often do expressing their personal thoughts and views.

In my post I said that I feel the councillor “talks shit” and is “full of bull”

As anyone who follows my posts know not wording I use often.

This councillor has with the party they are part of had a concerted political attack on me and my party for sometime and the fact as an individual I have challenged and held them to account as have the party i am a member of.

After sharing my thoughts about the county council member as an individual as I am not a county council member I spoke about them as any one in Cumbria can a resident.

They have now taken political motivated steps to try and have me silenced and steps to try and have me removed as a councillor by lodging a code of conduct complaint against me with Eden Council for saying they “talk shit” and are “full of bull”

This individual has branded me and others a “Trouble Maker” and has also in a Facebook comment I was sent a screen shot of called me an “ill educated individual” 

Now they can wear the innocent victim woolly coat all they want but that does not hide the bitter wolf that hides underneath.

This politically motivated attack in an attempt to silence me from calling out and holding to account will not be taken lightly.

The “Trouble Makers” that challenge and hold to account will not be silenced democratic right to free personal views are part of our democracy.

We do not live in communist China although the group involved may well think we are.
