The downfall of Eden

The slow end to a council with a leadership out of its depth and head in the sand.

It’s so demotivating to see what Eden council has become.

Back in 2018 Eden had drive ambition and vision since 2019 it had limped along from one failure to another and now is entering its final act on a string of failures and now for the second time in a year finding its self without a CEO as the council limps into negotiations to deliver a future council that will serve the area and its residents.

I do feel sorry for all the EDC staff that have to go through this mess and for a number of the councillors who you can see are so demoralised by the whole mess that they are part of trying to do what they can.

Unfortunately the executive appear oblivious to what is before them and what they are there to do.

There is so much more to local government that just taking power in a political battle.

The true sign of a good councillor is the deliver for the community and the leadership and visions to inspire and deliver.

Unfortunately Eden council is free falling into oblivion while the leadership stick their heads in the sand hoping it will go away and they can just do the vanity agenda project and stuff delivering for the people of Eden and the future.

I have no faith in the leadership it’s not personal to the individuals it’s the collective lack of ability to do the role they have power grabbed without the knowledge and ability to deliver at the time Eden needs leadership and vision the most to deliver a lasting legacy as the new chapter for the area begins.

The best thing to put Eden and it’s people first that the leadership could do now is step down to ensure the final act of the council is to ensure Eden is delivered for as it moves into the new era of local government.
