I fell into politics to make positive change for Cumbria

When I became a dad I was worried and concerned about the future world my son would have as I had little faith in the politicians of the day.

I fell into politics a good few years ago after a number of years in a role of lobbying for the community and business in various roles.

I have never been one to just shout from the sidelines so in 2017 I jumped in with both feet and became a candidate in the 2017 General election.

After the election others started to approach me about the need for change and a party that put local first the interests of Cumbria First and of all who live here over the mess of Westminster focused politics.

Out of that a party committed to putting Cumbria First was born.

With that same focus of making the place we live one that is a better place for our Children’s future.

As a party Cumbria First has never been about big wins in elections and taking power.

That’s not what we are about we are about brining people together to deliver the best collectively for the place we call home and the best for all who live and work in Cumbria.

Win or loose at elections we work to empower and benefit our communities and Cumbria as we are all committed to #PuttingCumbriaFirst

Beyond the politics beyond Elections People and Place are what is important and what we are about.

Having a seat on a council or the title of MP is not the end of that it is just a small part of what delivering positive change for our communities across Cumbria is about.

I don’t consider myself a politician although some do I know.

I consider my self a Cumbrian citizen who wants positive change and a future world that is safe and prospering for my son and all our children to take forward as the next generation.

I am not going to say come join us because it’s not about joining it’s about acting together for Cumbria.

To do that needs change and that Change begins with you and me all of us coming together with the shared ethos of making positive change for Cumbria.

It’s about using your voice to speak up for your family, your community, your Cumbria that’s what Putting Cumbria First means that’s what we are about that’s why in 2017 I had enough of the same old mess and stepped forward and said enough it’s time to start Putting Cumbria First together.

That’s why as a party we continue Putting Cumbria First and invite you to come do the same with us.
